Weekly News

It’s the week everybody has been waiting for, the anticipation has been building for ages.  Yes, ‘Move up Monday’ has arrived, are you ready for the challenge? This is your chance to test your self in a different group but don’t worry, run leaders will look after you with encouragement and motivation. By having a special Move up Monday session you will be joining a different group with a lot of others, so no need to fear being alone. The run will be slightly shorter than usual to accommodate any pace adjustments.

Thursday Efforts Session.  Mike’s session type is ’10 Brisk Reps’. This will consist of ten, 90 second intervals with a 60 second recovery in-between. To prevent anybody getting too dizzy we will alternate direction and starting position from where we have stopped.

This months club nominations go to, drum roll please….

Senior- Clare Eskell. Clare encourages and supports many of the club members, at training sessions and competitive events. She recently broke her PB at the Bristol Half Marathon and is a regular winner in her age group for road and off-road events. She is also a social runner taking part in Saturday water-tower runs and Colin’s coastal path weekends. Clare is great company on a run, always ready for a good chat on any subject BUT just one word of warning. Clare has a strict rule…. no conversing when running uphill!

Clare, in action, on her recent Nightingale Nightmare age category victory.

Junior- Erin Davis. The vote went to Erin for winning the Under 11’s girls race. She also had a very convincing win last month in the Year 6 North Bristol Primary Schools race.

We also have a Junior winner carried over from last months nominations.

Junior – Amelia Honor. Amelia has recovered from a serious injury and shown some serious commitment to club events.

The next Gwent Cross Country fixture in on this Saturday at Pembrey Park. Could all Senior and Vet men get in contact with Scott Campbell if interested in running and lift sharing arrangements. The mens turnout was rather low at the Cardiff event so we are looking to increase the numbers, so come on, we mustn’t let the women take all the glory again!

Tamsin Elson Chick will also be collating names for the ladies entry. Do let her know if you are interested in running on Saturday 10th Nov.

Online entries are now available via the Clevedon Athletic Club Boxing Day Run. Link provided below. http://www.clevedonac.co.uk/races
