Many thanks to everybody who stayed behind after training on Monday to discuss the future of the Blaise Blazer.
The decision taken was to revert the races to Monday night’s with them taking place on the first Monday of June, July and August. For 2016 the dates are 6th June, 4th July and 1st August.
The course will be altered so that it starts and finishes close to the clubhouse. The finish at the castle was good, but presented some logistical difficulties as well as people disbursing from the finish area quickly after the race.
The club would also like more people to volunteer to help at the races. It tends to be the same people over and over again volunteering whilst others run all three races. The organisation both in advance and on the day does not simply happen by magic; a lot of work goes into making the races run smoothly. We are a big club and should not be reliant on the same core group every single time. We will be looking at ways to make it beneficial to be a volunteer for the races.
