Membership Renewal. I know, I keep harping on about membership fees, but we have a lot of members still to renewal. For details on how to pay, see link: http://westburyharriers.co.uk/club-membership-fees-for-2019/
Run and Cake. A big thank you from Caroline and Anneka Bull to everybody who turned out to support the ‘Run and Cake’ event to raise money for SportAid (an impressive £288), their chosen charity for this years London Marathon. Runners split into two groups, taking on either a 5k or 10k challenge through the woods of the Blaise estate. At the end there was plenty of cake for all and a raffle, with prizes kindly donated by Sandra Bailey-gard. Caroline also thanks all the tea, cake and tidying away helpers. If you were unable to make the charity run you can still donate via Just Giving

Congratulations.
Brecon to Cardiff Ultra: Well done to Helen Sawyer who took part in the Brecon to Cardiff 70k Ultra earlier this month. The event strap line is ‘Run-walk-crawl’ but I can’t imagine Helen did any walking or crawling to come in at 8hrs 9mins!
Hendy Half: Also, hot off the press we have Chris McCabe with an impressive half marathon result of 1:32:46. Chris describes the Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon course in Kent as ‘challenging’ but he must be getting used to it as he smashed last years finish time by 5 minutes!
Photo: Tim Carr, looking very strong as he crosses the line to finish last week’s Ironwood Challenge. Image thanks to Jo Shepherd from Backwell Camera Club.
