Running buddies

Many thanks to all those that replied volunteering to be a running buddy, great to see the idea was well received. Still need a few more people, don’t have anyone yet for groups 1,2 and 6. Doesn’t require any committement – -just if you at training you may be asked to buddy up with someone new. See orginal post below.

Do you train at the club regularly? Would you be willing to be asked on the night to buddy up with somone new to the club? I am looking for volunteers to act as a buddy for someone who is new to the club and may be anxious about giving it a go, have a mental health condition or need a bit of extra support. Monday nights can be pretty busy with group leaders having lots to organise and with many people about. If you are new, it is nice to have someone to explain how things work, what goes on and to check that you have enjoyed the run. Westbury Harriers is a very friendly place but to make it even more inclusive to all, it would be great if we could have a couple of people in each of the training groups who were happy to ensure that someones first experiences of the club are really positive. If you would be happy to be a running buddy please email me on manager.women@westburyharriers.co.uk
