Well done to everyone who participated in Monday’s Murphy Clinic Westbury Wipeout, and a big thank-you to those who helped out on the night. We’re really sorry that a number of participants went wrong and saw rather more of the Blaise Castle estate than intended, but are glad that everyone returned safely. We’ve learned a number of lessons from this, the first time we’ve ‘lost’ anyone since the early years of the event, and will ensure everyone will get the proper ‘Wipeout Experience’ next year. I did see quite a serious crocodile attack by Trolls Bridge, but you’ll be glad to know that the crocodile is ok, if a bit deflated.
We had 268 recorded finishers, who are [listed in order of appearance here]. NB There were 5 wave starts (4 full course and 1 short course), but we haven’t distinguished between these in the record of finishers.
Next year’s event is pencilled in for Monday, 3rd July 2023, and if you’re not already on our new mailing list (based on entrants to this year’s event) you can [sign up here]. In line with GDPR and our environmental policy, the 2021-22 mailing list (used to promote this year’s event) will be buried in soft peat after a final mailing giving the opportunity to transfer to the new list.
Here are some photos from the evening. If anyone would like their photo removed, please [let me know]. If you would like a high resolution copy do please ask (to email address used by entrant; please quote photo numbers).
