Hi everyone
Would you like to run on the hills more efficiently, feeling strong and in control? Do you feel like you get on ok/well on the flats but as soon as a hill comes everything goes wrong? Did you feel like you get overtaken on the downhills at the Gwent League/other races having worked really hard on the uphill?
If so, join me for a free hill running technique session, in Blaise Estate at 7pm on Monday 6 August or 7pm on Wednesday 8 August. I’ll meet you all at the Westbury Harriers Club House at 7pm and take you through some of the key technical aspects running on hills. The session should last about 45 minutes to an hour.
This session is genuinely suitable for any ability and we’ll be running on the gentle hills of the fields of Blaise Estate. The aim of the session is not to do lots of running or tire yourself out on the hills but rather to get you to think about how you are running both uphill and downhill which should make the whole experience a lot easier and enjoyable!
Spaces are limited to 20 people for each session so if you would like to come please let me know by dropping me an email (address below) stating which session (Monday 6 August or Wednesday 8 August) you’d like to attend.
A little bit about me, my name is Dan Summers and I’ve been a member at Westbury for 7 or 8 years. I’m not the most active member of the club in terms of participating in club runs but hopefully I know quite a few of the people that are reading this! I’ve run a lot on the road but over the past few years have been exclusively doing off road events. I’m a qualified Mountain Leader and have recently taken the Fell Leadership in Running Fitness course. As well as these sessions I am organising a weekend “Introduction to Trail Running Course” in the Brecon Beacons this autumn – http://www.adventure-awaits.co.uk/intro-to-trail-running).
Any questions please let me know either by email (dan_summers@hotmail.com) or phone (07776130707).
