Our runners finished the Gwent League on a high, with many posting their highest places of the season. A big thank-you to Geraint for organising toboggan rides for our loyal youngsters, which went down really well.
GIRLS: Thanks to all the youngsters and parents who made the two hour journey to Llanelli. A long way to go for a race but hopefully worth it. Dalis Jones completed a clean sweep of wins in the U13 girls races, with Amelia Honor second overall, and the team winning the league title by a large margin.
Under 11 Girls: Abigail Woodworth 16, Kaya Priove 24, Steph Hamilton-James 40, Rhiannon Torrington 54
Under 13 Girls: Dalis Jones 1, Amelia Honor 3, Molly Acton 8, Ruby Saunders 14, Meghan Porteous 24
Under 15 Girls: Emily Whitaker 2, Rhiannon Paton 3, Rosie Hamilton-James 4, Isable Smart 20, Anne Jones 32
Under 17 (results mixed in with under 20s): Steph Cummins 4, Phoebe Gould 17
BOYS: Abdi had a thrilling race with Sam Gentry for the individual title, but lost out by the narrowest of margins – equal overall on points, but losing out because it was Sam who won the last race (the Gwent League tie-splitting rule). However, the U15 team made amends by winning a tight battle from Aberdare.
U11: Finley White 55
U13: Seamus Robinson 1
U15: Abdifataah Hasan 2, Greg Hayward 5, Johan Hobbs 15, Fred Stewart 23
U17: Aidan Noble 4, Ben Whitaker 16
WOMEN: The ladies finished their Gwent league season well at the final fixture at Pembrey Park. Another new course, which was enjoyed by all. No mud!!! Very nice underfoot, but a bit on the windy side and a sandune thrown in kept things interesting.
We wait to see the senior overall results with anticipation as we should have some individual and team prizes on their way. Will post when these are known.

I would like to say a huge thank-you to all the ladies who have taken part in the Gwent league this season whether you have run in one race or all five. after a quieter season last year it has been great to have big turnouts at all the fixtures and teams represented in all the age categories from the U23’s to the Vet 65’s. There has been a wonderful team atmosphere, lots of encouragement, cake and some fanatastic running achievements.
