A big ‘well done’ to everyone who made last Monday’s Westbury Wipeout such a great success, both those who ran and the 60+ volunteers who made it happen.
There is a list of all finishers in order of appearance, and are some photographs of the event, in a news item here.
Next year’s event will provisionally be held on Monday 5th July 2027. This year’s entrants will receive news of next year’s event, but if you missed it you can add yourself to the mailing list here.
I’m often asked about the event t-shirts, so have posted supplier details and a list of all colours since the event started in a news item here.
THE RUN
The Westbury Wipeout is a challenging multi-terrain adventure run for juniors aged between 8 and 15, taking them on a tour of the woods, streams and hills of the Blaise Castle Estate. The event is 3k (2k for eight- and nine-year-olds) and includes a long downhill section, some scrambling up banks and slopes, and plenty of splashing through water across mud, rocks, roots and steps. The course is fully marshalled.
Survivors will have to overcome ‘Roman Ramparts’, the ‘Descent of Doom’, ‘Shark Lagoon’, ‘Ditch of Destruction’, ‘Crocs Leap’, ‘Hills of Torment’, ‘Trolls Bridge’ and ‘Scramble of Hope’! (check out our survivor’s route map).
The event is not timed, as the Westbury Wipeout is all about adventure, challenge and fun. Once you start, the only way out is on your own two feet!
Please read our Instructions for Participants for a more detailed guide to what happens, when, and also our Outdoor Health Leaflet to keep you safe.
Prizes, ‘Results’ and Photos
All participants receive a souvenir T-Shirt, but there are no prizes or medals based on finishing order. After the event, we’ll compile a list of all finishers in order of appearance, but the event is untimed.
If all goes well, we’ll have a number of action shots which will appear on the website (without names). Please let us know if you don’t want photographs of your child to appear.
