Westbury Harriers was formed in 1924 in The White Lion Hotel, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, just a mile away from Blaise Castle. To celebrate their 100th birthday and 50 years of involvement with the John H Collins Gwent Cross Country League the club organised a “Centenary Challenge”, run in parallel with their home fixture at Blaise Castle on Saturday 30th November. Two sets of medals were awarded to the first 3 finishers in each race, one set open for all Gwent League competitors, the other for Westbury Harriers’ members. Additionally, the top 3 in the U17, U20 and Senior categories were presented with Start Fitness vouchers.
