CLUB NOTICES
Monday 1st July – No formal for academy/juniors/seniors due to the Westbury Wipeout. Volunteers – Alastair has sent a detailed email. Please check your inbox and have a good read through.
RunTogether – a reminder to please cancel your run session if you can’t attend, so leaders know not to expect you. This is easily done via the app. Ask if you don’t know how. RunTogether does not issues automatic refunds. Vicky is now processing and Monday session refunds and Tamsin Tues-Thurs session refunds. If you think you owed a refund please just message us and we don’t mean to but we can miss some.
CLUB TRAINING THIS WEEK

Tuesday
Track session at Yate 7pm – seniors book on via RunTogether. Check the FB page for session details.
Wednesday Hill Session
Adults, all abilities. Meet every Wednesday at 12pm at the traffic lights by Saville Road on the Downs. Book on via RunTogether. Coffee in the Downs Café at 1pm for anyone that wants to come along.
Thursday intervals
Juniors 6pm, Adults 7pm at Coombe Dingle
Speed work run on well maintained grass playing fields at Coombe dingle sports complex. Intervals are ran on time rather than distance and we have groups to suit every level of runner. Adults book on via RunTogether.
Senior session this week – 4 sets of: 3mins (1min recovery) 90secs (1min recovery), 6 x 20secs (20sec recovery)
*Option to do 3 sets or drop 3mins to 2.30mins
3mins @5km pace/effort 90secs @3k pace/effort, 20 secs as fast as you can pace!
* Options are suitable for those coming back from injury/time out, but remember as well it would be more beneficial to sometimes take the reduced option and run quicker, than to complete the full session and run at the same speed as previous training blocks.
RACE REPORTS
Nailsea Beer and Banger 10k
by Mark AndrewsA really enjoyable Friday evening out at one of my favourite races! A lovely sunny evening but a nice breeze meant it wasn’t too warm! A really good turnout of Westbury Harriers for this Club Championship event, including lots we didn’t manage to catch in the photos!
First Westbury runners to finish with maximum Club Championship points were Jack Derrick and Rachel Liston. Congratulations to Sarah Andrews and Sandy Masters for their V50 and V60 age category wins! Well done to everyone who raced and thanks to our supporters out on the course encouraging us on!
The format of this race is so good, the hot dog and beer included in the race entry encourages everyone to stay afterwards for a post race catch up. I didn’t get a prize for my running but did manage to have two hot dogs and two beers😉

Thornbury 10km
Well done to our runners at the Thornbury 10km on Thursday. Well done to Colin and Robyn 1st in their age groups.
Well done to Jonathan Riley who completed the Bob Graham round in the Lake District in under 24 hours, thus joining the bob Graham club.
ACADEMY TRAINING
Monday 1st July – No training due to Westbury Wipeout
Monday 8th July – Just a reminder that Gold and Silver groups will return to Blaise for 8th July. On these dates the children will have the chance to run in the river – and so will return wet – you may want to think about a change of clothes/towel. If you do not want your child to get wet – please let them and me know – they do not have to do this. Thanks
Monday 15th July will be our last session and will be at Stoke Lodge from 6.30-8pm for all groups. (If you can’t get there for 6.30 – come when you can)
