Blaise blazer volunteering information
Please see below the positions / information with regards to the Blaise Blazer. Additional information will be sent out via email to all volunteers no later than 02/06/2023.
As you can see, a large number of volunteers are needed for the event to run successfully!
There are known hazards that apply to the whole race route:
- Uneven terrain, with exposed hazards such as stones, tree roots and rocks.
- Route may be slippery if wet.
There are some specific hazards that apply at certain locations:
- Joining the path from the Mansion to the Old Water Mill (section B).
- Sharp downhill sections (sections E, N, P & T).
- Sharp left hand turn to resume the route (section C, heading towards I).
Marshals need to arrive; and meet the volunteer coordinator at the Westbury Harriers Clubhouse no later than 18:40 – ideally before then for a short briefing.
The pre-race briefing will be at 19:15. All marshals are required to be at their designated locations at 19:00, confirming via text that they have arrived.
Do not leave your marshal position until the tail runner has passed and clearly stated that there are no other runners behind them.
It may be necessary to take directional arrows on the course; these will be located at the clubhouse.
