Don’t forget that the second Gwent League is at Brecon, next Saturday, 12th November. We got off to a great start at Bridgend last month, with three youngsters’ teams leading the standings, and our women lying 3rd, and are hoping to get another good turn-out at Brecon. Events are as follows:
12.00 Novice Boys 1.4k
12.08 Novice Girls 1.4k
12.16 Under 13 Boys 2.8k
12.33 Under 13 Girls 2.8k
12.50 Senior Ladies and Masters MV65
13.32 Under 15 Boys
13.40 Under 15 Girls
13.49 Under 17/Under 20 Men
14.05 Under 17/Under 20 Women
14.20 Senior Men and Masters
Full details, including directions, are on the Gwent League website. Match fees of £1 for youngsters (under 20) and £4 for seniors, are payable to team managers on the day. There is no ‘selection’ – simply the first 4 home score for the team. We enter teams on the morning of the event, but it really helps to let your team manager know you are coming.

If you’re using Sat Nav, don’t forget to aim for the Penlan Leisure Centre in Brecon (LD3 9SR) – don’t let it take you to Swansea (where they also have a Penlan Leisure Centre) – you wouldn’t be the first!
The 3rd Gwent League, on Saturday 3rd December, will be our home fixture at Blaise Castle. As well as a bumper turn-out, we’ll also be looking for volunteers to help marshal / mark the course / serve teas / park cars etc.
