Results (i) – Harriers success on world stage in Spain

For those who didn’t see their Facebook posts, many congratulations to mother and daughter members Jeni Stevenson and Steph Cummins for their outstanding success at the World Biathle Championships in Viveiro, Spain, between 20th and 24th September.

Biathle is a branch of modern pentathlon involving a “run-swim-run” sequence with continuous transitions.

Steph competed in the U19 Mixed Relay (with Ollie Jones), which consisted of 1600m run – 200m swim-1600m run, and they finished in a close second for a superb silver medal. Steph also finished an admirable 7th in the individual U19 event.

Jeni brought home a remarkable ‘full house’ of medals in the 40+ category (1200m run – 100m swim- 1200m run): gold for the UK in the Ladies Team Event, Silver (and top Briton) in the Individual, and Bronze in the Mixed Relay.

Medals, action scenes and podium joy reproduced above from Facebook posts, with thanks.

Well done both.
