This month’s members of the month are:
Senior – Jason Michael
Being a coach, as most of us know, can be a thankless task. However, Jason comes to every session on a Monday and looks after 30 or more under 11/13 children. Rain or shine he is there with the same enthusiasm, persuading the kids to compete in cross country events and teaching them technique and drills as well as making them run to improve their fitness. He also comes to every Gwent League race to help warm the kids up and make sure they get to the start line.
Junior – Abigail Woodworth
Abi is 11, however, some competitions – the Tri-Counties, Midlands XC championships, Nationals etc -allow younger runners to compete as under 13s as long as they are 11 on the day of the race. Abi has stepped up and asked to be entered into these races and has competed against runners basically a whole age group above her. She is a great asset to the team.
