Despite torrential rain before the event, 28 youngsters turned out for the inaugural Kings Weston Parkrun on Sunday. In the end the storm abated, leaving just the odd muddy puddle in the way of our brave juniors. Many congratulations to all participants, to Warren Pickles for making the event happen, and to all the volunteers. This event is now weekly, on a great, scenic course, and we hope to see more youngsters giving it a go. Don’t forget to register before your first time, print and bring your barcode along, and present it with your finishers disk after you’ve finished (a couple of ‘Unknown’ in the results probably didn’t hand in their disk and barcode).
We’re also looking for volunteers to help in future weeks. It doesn’t have to be every week; even if you just helped out once a month that would be great. Please sign up as a volunteer on the Parkrun website with the dates you can make.
