Club Championships

WESTBURY HARRIERS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2017-2018

Welcome all to the Club Championship for 2017-18.    Our club Championship committee this year are Eithne Noonan, Sophie Voller, Jullian Bailey-Gard and Judy Knights.

It will be run from May 2017 until April 2018.

So What Is The Club Championship?
A series of local races throughout the year (road, off road, fell, cross country), ranging from 2 miles to 20 miles.
Open to senior runners (over 18).
You can earn points for participating.
At the end of the year there are trophies and prizes to be won.
There are also prizes for Veteran categories (Women V35, V45 & V55) (Men V40, V50 & V60).

How Do I Get Involved?
You will be eligible to participate once you’ve paid your yearly membership .

Once membership is paid, all you’ll need to do is go onto the Westbury Harriers web site, select the relevant race from the Club Championship races, and enter your finishing time and position.

Note – If you enter your race results in the same month you’ve competed, you’ll  be entered  for an end of month prize draw. With lots of lovely spot prizes on offer.

How Are The Points Calculated?
Points will awarded as follows;
– 30 for 1st finishing male/30 for 1st finishing female.
– 29 for 2nd finishing male/29 for 2nd finishing female.
– 28 for 3rd finishing male/28 for 3rd finishing female.
– So on until the 20th runner, who will receive 11 points.
– After which everyone will receive 10 points each.

Gwent League points will be awarded based upon best placed finish in the series.

An extra 10 points are available for volunteering at the following 3 Westbury club events;
– The Blaise Blazer
– The Westbury Wipeout
– The Westbury hosted Gwent League

Your best 10 results will count, together with any points from volunteering.

Sri Chinmoy  2 mile – Tuesday May 16

Details – It’s two laps of the ‘peace mile’ course around Eastville Park.  Its slightly undulating, on tarmac paths.

Where – Eastville Park, Fishponds Road, Eastville, Bristol BS5 6PX (opposite Ikea under the M32)
Registration is usually on the top of the park opposite The Queens Head Public house.

Cost – £4 affiliated, £6 unaffiliated.

Start Time – 7:30pm
