THE Westbury Harriers/Yate AC pair of Ellie Wallace and Hannah Hobbs were both involved in the most exciting race of the night at the British Milers’ Club regional meeting in Exeter on Tuesday.
Wallace (pictured left) pushed winner Molly Canham – who is top of the UK U17 800m Rankings – all the way in the A race as both girls were rewarded with personal bests.
Canham won in 4:32.04 with Wallace just half a stride behind in 4:32.16 – times that put Canham top of the South West U17 Rankings and Wallace fourth in the U20s.
Hobbs (pictured right) just missed her PB of 4:29.93 which she set last year but her time was a season’s best with the promise that she will get significantly quicker.
