AVON 5K RELAY CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Sunday 27th August, Cleeve.
We will be entering teams in the club relay championships – details below.
Good event for Westbury last year with wins in LV45 (Maria Hobbs, Jeni Stevenson and Caroline Scapens), LV55 (Marilyn Palmer, Eithne Noonan and Izzy Povey) and MV60 (David George, Mike Mewse, Nigel Gates).
Last year the Westbury teams were sponsored by Lindt chocolates – free chocolate !
This year it is likely to be United Biscuits – free biscuits !
It’s an enjoyable day out and entries fees are paid for by the club.
What could be better than a free race and free biscuits ?
(OK …. free champagne would be nice as well !)

TEAMS: 4 Legs per Men’s Team / 3 Legs per Ladies Team (3 Legs for: MV50, MV60)
CATEGORIES: Seniors, MV40, FV35, MV50, FV45, MV60, FV55
DISTANCE: Accurately Measured 5km route
PRIZES: Avon AAA County Medals.
The event will again start in the flat and beautifully managed Cleeve sports and playing fields and is run on quiet country roads and footpaths in the Claverham and Cleeve area on a predominately flat course with one small climb.
FREE parking, toilets, and access to the Sinclair Pavilion (Cricket Club). Plus, there is a bar which we expect to stay open well into the late afternoon, as it is Bank Holiday weekend! There will also be Tea, Coffee, Squash, Cakes and Sandwiches etc on offer.
